Guys,
thoughts please.

My left hand (passenger) fog light got smashed, so I got a new one. Fitting is easy, but once I got out the old one I spotted that the wires from the old one come out at a different direction?

Have I got a continental one rather than a UK one? Does it matter.

So, the part numbers on the old and new are the same. The wires from the old one come out the wing side, whereas the new one points to the middle of the car. However the new one fits perfectly, the adjuster nut hole fits perfectly, and as the adjuster nut is on the outside side of the car on both side there is only one side that it can fit in.

Can you not just extend the wiring to reach that the wiring on the fog light?(if thats even a problem) Also when it's fitted it will probably be worth asking an MOT garage if it's road legal with that fog light, but I dont think it will make a difference.

The wiring stretches - it's all hooked up and works. I'm just interested if it's another Italianism ! Seems to adjust ok as well

Interesting thread, i was going to post one myself as my drivers side one is smashed.

Did you get one from fiat and if so how much?

I got it from ebay - their shop is only about 20km along the road - £45 - £50.
Genuine FIAT part.
I find the fog lights are very useful in the winter.

Let's see if I can explain this. If you look at the car from the front, there is two bolts and one adjuster nut on each light. The adjuster nut is on the bottom outside of each light (so looking at the front of the car the passenger side light adjuster nut is at the bottom right, the driver side light adjuster is at the bottom left.

So having bought a passenger side fog light when you fit it (it can't fit on the driver's side because of the hole for the adjuster nut), the electrical cable comes out to the left (when viewed from the front), wheras the one I took off, the cable goes to the right - going towards the wing. With me?

I.e. the new and old are identical apart from the direction of the cable, but it can't be a driver's side light because the adjuster hole won't fit!

Also, the fog lights corrode like hell, and the interior fills up like sh*t. You really have to fit a pair, as I now have a bright and dull one.
