Well i spoke to emz,

shes kindaly offered to get another set like the ones shes had made up for me, need her to pm me back tho *hint hint* the rest of the engine seems arite... the bores look fine and i have a new head in the form of a 1242... one lol
so rele its just the pistons where the issue lies

not toooooooooooooo major but still a kick in the mouth

you're ending up with better pistons though

i could do with a set like that for a 1242

if your putting a new set in then may aswell get next size up and a re bore, new big n little ends, be like new then

we'll rip the block apart and have a look but in short i think we can say we won't be seeing my turbo cinq till stanford possibly even gaydon

isnt a 1242 head a step backwards (as far as tuning goes) on the 1108 head? make sure you get it ported and polished too though

Chris... i've been led to believe the 1242 and 1108 head are identical?
i'll be popping a 75 cam in though so shouldn't be a great loss.

i read on here that the early 1242 heads have smaller inlet holes etc.. or something like that.. the later ones are the same i think.. im sure it was something arc said? not sure.. may have been old skool, was defo in a thread with the pair of them debating anyway

the early punto55 and 60 heads do have smaller inlet valves, yeah.

they changed over at around may 1997.

is a 75 cam suitable? I think turbocinq1250 tired a 75 cam, and it didnt help on a turbo engine really.

How much extra would the pistons be for a 1242, there is nothing special about the 1108 HB block bar the pistons is there - why not build a 1242 hiboost?

wasnt there an issue with lowering the comp on the 1242 pistons?course may be different if your buying custom postons.makes sense if you can

i'm selling the 1242 block so thats out the question...

the issues were u couldnt machine the standard pistons as there wasnt much on top.. custom ones fixes that!
