Hi all,

I am really wanting to get the Sportex Manifold for my car but after having a quick look at the car think that this would mean the catalytic converter would have to come out as I 'think' it is located immediatly after the manifold in a vertical position. Am I right?

Is there any way around this like repositioning the cat after the sportex manifold and before the flexi-tube to pass the old MOT? Or could I get a custom system with a sports cat to solve the problem?

Cheers
Rich

the cat on a MPI is part of the manifold, repositioning the cat is possible but makes the whole exercise a bit pointless..

So theres no way of having the manifold fitted at the same time as a custom sports cat without the lambada sensors causing the engine warning light to come on?

You can replace the lamba sensors with resistors, thus fooling the ecu that all is well with the world(y)

Unfortunately eventually the ECU will recognise something being wrong there. It needs a bit more than a resistor.

I am sure that i could have a second boss welded into the manifold and the lambada sensor wiring extended professionally when I take it for fitting. would just cost a little more me thinks? so basically my plans are possible?

You are spending lots of money on a manifold, then probably the same amount again on a sports cat.
