When I took off the Oil breather Pipe - I noticed brown/yellow sticky bits. So I took it off & blew through it - it wass completely full with that stuff.

Is this normal ?

I also noticed that there is a small tube connected to the oil breather pipe that goes into the TB - what is that for ?

Just wonderind since this small tube seems to be damaged at the end where it connects to the TB.

I have seen Induction Kits where the oil breather tube is not connected to the TB aswell.

It's not unusual on high mileage engines or engines used for short runs. It points to the engine not getting hot enough for water in the oil to evaporate completely and condensing with oil vapour in the coolest place. Of course, in high mileage engines there will be more blow-by and therefore more water vapour in the crank.......... Just clean it really well (white spirit or -- if you're feeling brave and doing it outside, petrol) and disregard providing there are no other signs of mayo.

Almost certainly, emissions. I'd be inclined to make sure it's not blocked and repair it.

I now notice that the oil breather filter always has a wet patch - I can't make out what it is though.

It's not oil & it doesn't smell of petrol.

Any Ideas
