hi does anyone have a list of fault codes for the obd 2 ecu on the seicento 2001 mpi ecu as i dont want to go the garage and pay £40 for a diagnostic when i can buy this code reader and ecu resetter from ebay that does the same

would this be compatable with my car? ?
also does anyone know what protocol fiat use for obd 2 ?
i have a flashing yellow engine light

The yellow engine light that flashes could indicate your catalytic converter is damaged rather than an ECU fault, however it would be recommended to go for a diagnostic check

I don't know w aht protocal Fiat use but most of these readers will read all the usual ones, and the codes are all the same.

Your thinking of the OBD\OBD-II\EOBD standards.....

The older Marelli-Weber units (like the 6F,16F etc) use a manufacturer specific protocol and due to that info on it is fairly rare...thats why Fiat have an effective monopoly on code-scanning stuff like older 'Centos.

...the aftermarket hardware that you can get for those ECUs may not be as thorough as the Fiat-Lancia Tester (Im sure the Sykes Pickavant unit only scans the RAM Memories and not the permanent mewmories).

I havee taken our 2001 Sei to Fiat dealers and to local garages for this test. The fiat dealer was able to read the current and previous error codes whereas the local garage was only able to look at the error when the light was actually on.

In fact using the local garage was expensive and achieved nothing!
