Accelerator cable

I have just had the clutch and cable replaced on my Sei sporting and the day after (yesterday) having belted down a dual carraigeway at full flight ( ) as I lifted off to pull into the inside lane, the throttle remained wide open and I had to kick it to get it released.

Do they both go through the same bulkhead opening and is the fact that the clutch cable has been replaced caused this ?

Its only happened once (and was quite a laugh) but just wondered if it was a common occurence.
