Thought I would share this story!

I woke up on Saturday morning to find my back windscreen shattered, it looks like they had hit it with a punch tool to shatter windows. I am certain they were after my Kenwood 6x9's, and this was parked in my driveway,not just sitting on the street.

I called around and was quoted £106 fitted for a new one from autoglass, the cheapest i could get was £85+vat.

I got lucky though, called a local scrappy and he had a cinq in, got the back windscreen for £20, and a local garage fitted it for £15 at 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon.

I left them in it with the new window on Saturday night, I thought they might come back thinking it would not be fixed and try and get them but they never returned.
I am now actually taking the parcel shelf out at nights with the speakers on it!

the previous owner of my cinq had the rear window removed by theives. They didnt smash it, they cut the seals all the way round and left it propped against the car. They didnt take anything. But it rained the speakers got knackered anyway.

Maybe you should invest in a 'stealth shelf'. I have one, and if you look theres no sign of the speakers being there. Unless u have the stero on, then the fabric over the speakers jumps slightly

i've been tinting for three years now and i've had a few people come to me to get their windows tinted and also get the windows covered with security film this does smash but holds the glass together,it can withstand a couple of good hammer blows!!! although it's very difficult to fit on a rear window,usually you fit it to the sides but you could try and fit it,i've fitted this and a day later was allowed to have a go breaking it (test car!) and i can tell you you have to really go for it for it to smash! if you have a good alarm by the time they hit it once your alarm will be going crazy! hope this helps?
