Hi lads!

Got myself a Punto 1.8HGT and looking to use it as a track car for a bit... the bigger plan is to put it into a cinq/Sei and use as a budget yet fun track car.

Looking for info on how/is it possible to convert into a cinq/sei and what can be used from the Punto.

Any info, tips and help welcome.

The Punto will be doing a few laps of Knockhill shortly.

not a swap i have seen before and not one i would bother with tbh. The engine is massive and heavy it will ruin a cento imo. Or at least thats my opinion on it - i know plenty of people have supercharged the hgt engine to good effect but i very much doubt it would fit in a cento with a charger on it - and that'll only make it heavier.

The easiest thing to do is stick with a fire engine of some sort. 1.2 16v or 1.4 16v or tjet. Its nothing new though so if you are wanting something completely different and out the box then maybe not but its tried and tested. a tjet cento would utterly destroy a 1.8 hgt engined cento everywhere too. I would think a 1.4 16v would nearly keep up in a straight line but be way quicker in the twisty bits.

Tbh if it were me I'd probably completely strip out the hgt and turn that into a track car with a supercharger and stuff if i had it already.

Cheers for that, would ideally go tjet if possible but this is the "budget" based track car, as the HGT was got for buttons and can pick up a cento just as cheap was thinking as a potential option. Not after the big power just something that can go out, keep up, and have fun.

Will look to see what option there is.. will run the punto as is for now maybe do a bit of a winter project with it.

As said it's the budget track car, the current one is a Clio 182 and this is the back me up one ?????
