YOU know the rubber that stops rain water falling into the door? That is coming away from the other bit trim what it looks like should just pop into. Well i cant get the bugger to pop so. Any technique to getting this out so i can fix it properly before i lose it?

Cheers

Having the exact same issue. Nearly lost mine twice on the weekend.

Once at an NCP, the other at the Severn Bridge Tolls :(

If its the same as a Cinq ...
You have to pull the rubber for removal, then the plastic that holds it,pull down the window first, from the side near the door mirror you will see the plastic that holds under the metal leap like a hook, help with a screw driver or finger to start pop up.Carefully not to brake it,it may be "dry" from the age and crack.
Clean them both with soap water and a old tooth brush, let them dry.
Put on some silicon lubricant spray to moist and soft the rubber a little, and the plastic. On the plastic part there is a channel that the rubber goes in and along to the end,put the rubber and drag it carefully.
Now fit them when assembled together the opposite way you remove the plastic part, you will see it goes in and "lock".

My english are a little rusty for some technical words :D.
Hope I helped.

Please keep us posted as to how you get on :)

Just as Ivan MadGyver said mate but no retaining clips.

Working inside the car open window. From lock end/back end prise up and take out the inside one. This gives better access to outside one. Prise up the outside one. Mine was sticking inside so had to clean away as much crud as i could but it would prise up easy enough, again better working back to front as its tucked under the mirror trim. Once out use a little lube and slowly slide in making sure you dont miss a bit like i did as it will soon enough pop out again.

Refit outside tucking back under mirror trim, you may need to loosen the three screws a tad and tuck in and pup trim back down. Then pop the inner one back down and Bobs you uncle. Mind and tighten the mirror back up

I'm failing miserably with this.

The outside rubber / felt seal just won't stay clipped in so every time you operate the window, it falls out!

I've had to stop the car before now to pick it up off the road.

I've lowered the window fully, unclipped the inner seal, loosened the mirror mounting but for the life of me, I cannot get the outer plastic strip off.

Any ideas, pictures or tips very welcomed........

Managed to buy a brand new part from J&J Fiat near Bridgend. £25.

Fitted for free (well, £10 beer tokens for the tech).

Happy :)
