Having trouble with my Seicento wipers:
The PTFE ball joint which attaches the linkage to the motor cam keeps allowing the linkage to come off. Each time the cam rotates the splines become aligned at some point and the linkage pops off. It's easily refitted each time, but requires me to get under the hood. Sometimes it will last minutes, sometimes seconds.
The thing is solid when reassembled and the linkage seems well lubricated, and the wipers move freely.
Any suggestions how to secure the linkage to prevent it coming off the ball joint?
I've considered modifying a washer to fit over the ball joint and splines, and then using a couple of self tapping screws to secure it by drilling into the ball joint. but I'm looking for a less drastic solution if anyone can offer one up.
Thanks in advance

I'll lube up all the joints and see how it goes, thanks for the tip.

Otherwise google for "wiper linkage repair clip".
My parents had the same problem with their Mitsubishi Space Wagon, the clip fixed the issue!

If the plastic cup is worn you can replace it with one from a good second hand mechanism without replacing the whole lot.

Obv make sure the spindles are lubed first.

Someone should start making the cups as they do wear out in my experience.

i did a repair on a blokes saab once that had the same issue.
i just drilled through the top of the cup and then into the balljoint. i then tapped a thread into the balljoint. i then drilled a slightly larger clearance hole through the cup section and put a bolt in to keep it held together. make sure the bolt is slightly longer than the hole so it doesnt nip up tight. use locktite to stop the bolt coming out.

this repair will last.
