Good day All,

Checking in to report on my Father and I Seicento Turbo.

Long story Short - loads of cash has been spent on this car to get a turbo fitted...4 turbos have serviced this engine, however - the latest upgrade has seen us achieve power figures of around 104kw/214Nm @ 4850rpm and set at 0.8bar.

Power is awesome for such a small car - however, the gearbox disagrees.

Yesterday marked the first proper breakdown...It seems the diff/final drive has given up, the car wouldnt roll, even though gears could be selected.

We managed to get it towed on a roll back tow truck, but when we offloaded, it seemed not to want to roll, eventually when it did, we heard a clunk and an additional batch of gear oil oozed out, following some metal debris.

NOW here is my question - is there any replacements which are freely available, if not - what can be made to fit into the Seicento.

I would appreciate any and all help regarding this - this all happened in preparation to get this little machine onto a drag strip.

Please help....Any South Africans located in Johannesburg, would be a bonus.

Thanks guys.

Hi RallyCinq,

I have no clue - havent taken the current box apart as yet - after locking it up, towing it and dropping it off forced the casing to crack - so its a totalled box.

I will have to take it out and check it - tell me, what are the differences and how can I tell the differences between the two?
purf,

Will the Palio 1.2 box fit straight in? Any ideas of any tricks or tips to fitting it? I am looking for something with the least modifications necessary - for ease of replacement in-case we want to boost a little higher in the near future.

The motor is still 100%, just the box gave up - so if I can get sound advice, I would really appreciate it, as it will get us back on the black stuff again.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys.

Im not 100% its a straight swap. Someone will know better than me. Palio might have hydraulic clutch slave? Gear ratios will also be different I reckon.

You might need to mix and match a few parts from the original box.
