So bought a seicento for 90 with 5 months NCT, no 3rd and crunching going into 4th, changed box which what I think was a normal seicento box, not a sporting
Put oil in etc, selects all gears perfect except 5th, the box does have 5th but it's not selecting it through the gearstick

My question is do I need to change linkages to a Sx from sporting or is there something I'm missing?
Thanks

The selector selects 5th, so does the box with linkage on and no ball socket connected.
I see the bottom plastic bushing is 100%
There is the slider for the pull up reverse , it's fouling on that, but I know it's just not right, any ideas

Has also done it with only this box, both selctor mechs will put it into 5th and I have drove it in 5th so the gear is 100% also, kinda stumped

You may have to adjust the cables as the movement needed is not enough.

There are cable tension adjusters BOTH ends of the cable.

It is a right pain but you will win with a bit of playing.

It is probably the right to left adjustment that needs tweaking.

Yes that seems it, were are the adjustment in the cable, I see on the little arm with the small cable has a bit of adjustment , is there some in the cable box under the car,
Thanks a million guys

Where the car rests in neutral where up is 3rd is straight up and 4th is straight down, there isn't enough of a gap from the gear stick and reverse slider for the car to go over into 5 ?

SORTED!!! THE LITTLE LINKAGE ON THE END OF THE BOX!!
Turned it 4 full turns and got 5th!
Guys can't thank you enough time because I wouldn't have looked there as soon
Evan
