hi all ,trying to find a picture/exact location of the temp sensors on the seicento 1.1 spi year of cars a 1998 .

been having issues with rough idle poor mpg and now the cutting out when braking

so far have got the following bits to hopefully cure the issues

map sensor
crank sensor
icv
tps
temperature control sensor
coils
plugs and leads
air filter
fuel filter

and i believe that changing the coolant sensor ( blue one ) that the ecu reads is possibly another factor worth changing esp as there only a tenner for a bosch on via ebay but where the heck is it ? trying to find an actual picture of it and its location .

also on the back on the engine close to the oil filer car i see theres a sensor witha brown rubber cover over it any idea what this is for ?

many thanks .
stu

update ,from what i can gather the sensor with the brown rubber boot on it close to the dipstick oil filler cap is in fact one of the temp sensors the red one which i guess is the one for the ecu reading ????

but wheres the blue one go

Not 100% sure is there a sensor in the Thermostat housing? Just above the gearbox bell housing on the block.

My sei spi is on the garage so can't get out to have a look.

found the info ,not through any help on here have found that getting help on the forum is nye impossible

sensor for the spi that tells you on the dash if the cars too hot the one with the brown elbow type cover and often red or black with a single spade connection is the one the back on the engine close to the dipstick

the blue coolant ecu cold start sensor is on the back on the right hand side under neather wear a load of hoses are next to the coil pack. this is the crucial one as it tells the car how hot it is and help with mpg emissions etc ,ten quid for a decent new one so why bother faffing about just fit a new one after all most of them on these cars are now 15 years plus old and worn out as will most sensors on these cars after all they were built on a budget and not meant to last ...top tip if fitting sensors wynd ptfe tape on the threads and coat the electrical connections with silicone grease
