Greetings. I do not speak English and use the translation (please take into account errors) when you write me the answer please register offices without slang because it'll translate back through the dictionary.

Fiat Seicento to me sometimes one shining light and I do not know what it means. But I know that at start-up should go off because usually disappears. But sometimes goes out. It shows something of a reservoir in the engine but see nothing that would be fine...

As long as the light comes on at start up and then goes off once your engine is running then you are ok, as it is the ECU doing it's initial checks. If it stays on after you have started the engine then you have a problem and need to get the fault code read with a code reader.

hi,:)
on a seicento , the light being illuminated - it is likely to be an issue RELATED to the Lambda sensor probe in the exhaust

to confirm this,
plug in a device / reader to the Diagnostic Port - located next to the front bonnet / hood release lever,

are such devices sold in Slovakia..??http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vgate-Sca...369487?hash=item4ab7cee50f:g:8O4AAMXQNo5TbowK

No, I DO like this post. My fat finger hit the dislike button by mistake, sorry ! My beloved Silver soleil is having this problem too.

The problem is not the light on. There are many problems that may result in the light coming on, therefore, either get it read or buy the kit to allow you to do the reading.

Then, and only then, will you know what problem you actually have.

Cheers

Thank you Charlie - Oxford and D. I appreciate the advice.
I realise the light can come on for several (and sometimes no apparent) reasons! !
and that it needs proper diagnosis. It just didn't occur to me that I could potentially buy the equipment myself to read the codes ! (As much for my own interest as anything else . . . )
This forum's great, I'm learning a lot but I'm not gonna try and fix it myself-yet :) Fortunately I have a friend who works for *whispers* Ford and he's a good and reliable mechanic! And sound advice from forumistas on here so I'm lucky. . . .
