Got the compression tester out, for any other morons who come across this when searching.....

...cut down the rubber hose as close as you can to the stuck fitting whilst leaving a centimetre or so(I used a pen knife), then get a screw driver with a width slightly more than the inner hose diameter. Hammer it down into the hose until the tip reaches the inner fitting. The pressure of the screwdriver pushes the rubber hose outwards with grips the fitting and allows you to unscrew the comp tester!

I noticed last night how easy the rust is to get to if you were to remove the rear bumper....hmmm.

On a side note, sometimes removing the Bumpers can be a bigger job than actually doing the welding. Loads and loads of proper penetrating spray, not just WD40, spray it on all the nuts and bolts over the course of 3 or 4 days.
Then cross your fingers.

When I took mine off I had to grind 3 of them off. I've refitted them with stainless steel nuts/bolts and covered in grease just in case I or someone else has to remove them again.

Just fitted a battery and started it up, looks more like the HG is gone, horrible misfire now and thick white smoke out of the exhaust.

Does it boil over or over heat?
This time of year a fair bit of white smoke/steam could normal because of the outside temp.
I'll run it up to temp but sat at idle for 10 minutes the fan never came on and when I turned the engine off the coolant bottle whistled like a kettle.

That doesn't sound too good mate.
With the other bits then you need to think what your going to do with it.
Sell it as is spares of repair?
Or, and I don't like to say it, break it for parts. By the sounds of it you'll need to chuck a fair bit of cash at it to get all the bits sorted. Shame really

Cost wise I'd definitely be better off breaking it but I can't have it sat around in parts taking up space. If I'm selling the whole car I'm probably better off doing the head gasket myself and selling it as a runner?

Hard to say depends on how much you want as spares or repairs? And how much you would expect to get for it with the HG done?

Don't forget it would still have all the other issues/problems?

So even if the HG is done it still needs the core plug fixed, a big job that would put most people off, and the other welding and paint work bits.

So to be fair even if you did the HG you could still only sell it as spares or repair because core plug etc.

There's a red MS seicento sporting on Gumtree at the moment for sale for £300 ono which doesn't have the problems yours has.

If I was you and I was trying to get back as much of the £300 it owes me. I would put it on ebay, with a totally honest description of what you know it needs, clean it up with nice pictures, a good right up about the low milea and good bits, do a starting price of 100-150 with no reserve and see where the auction goes.

At this stage I wouldn't bother spending any more money on it unless you wanted to keep it and pay the cash to get it right for you to use.

The Schumachers over here in Ireland are near non existent, only seen 1 in person 3 years ago, if I was you I'd do my best to save the car
Especially the way schuey is ?

Seicento's are at what I consider to be rock bottom prices at the moment and Schumacher's don't command much more but as with other baby Fiats the prices will go up.

I have spent more on my Schumacher than what it is worth but I wouldn't part with it for any price

It isn't always about the monetary value, for me it is the pleasure I get from driving and looking after my little broom yellow baby ?

Well you'll all be happy to know I decided to keep the Schumacher and keep it as a project. I'm half way through the head gasket at the moment.

? Brilliant glad you have decided to keep the car
I have owned quite a number of cars and I can say hand on heart it's been the most fun to drive and probably one of the cheapest and easiest to repair

Keep us informed on progress and good luck
