Hello again, I've tried looking about abit to see what exhausts people have. I decided on a sportex cat back, 3" pipe. I bought it for around £160 off eBay and got it fitted very quickly.

I was expecting a lovely exhaust rasp with a lovely tone but however after fitting my lovely new larger diameter pipe it sounds pretty much exactly the same. Will it bed in and sound better after running it for a few weeks?

Iv heard some other seicento sounding brill with apparently sportex exhausts? How come mine sounds crap still? View attachment 171832

Probably not helpful but my Janspeed silencer sounds great ?

Have you tried driving with the rear Windows open?

I tried looking for another system than sportex but couldn't find one, the sportex silencer looks pretty big. there was an 'Ulter' system, but it said not for road use. And I actually have never opened the rear windows. Ever. Lol.

I can hear the janspeed that bit more with the Windows open at the back.

I think the janspeed is still available but expensive. I got mine second hand from justfiat on eBay ☺ £60! It had been welded on in the past though so needed a custom joining piece, again from eBay.

The sound the silencers make is about more than just the size of the tail pipe.

I almost bought the ulter silencer. I didn't notice is said not for road use??? They are probably just trying to bump up their street cred by saying that ☺

The Windows are a nice feature which is getting omitted from newer cars like vw to save money ?

I had a spare manifold, so I cut it open and removed the cat then welded it back together. Doesn't seem to have made any difference though. I'm going to leave it a few weeks to see if it improves. Where did you get the janspeed from?

It won't make any difference when you do it like that I done it to my punto and it basically sounds like **** you want an 1108 spi exhaust manifold and down pipe then get someone to weld in the second lambda bung into the down pipe

With standard mid pipe ect on the Seicento the Janspeed is nicest at 2-3500 rpm which brings a bit of enjoyment to the lower echelons of the rev counter :)

James did you post a video attachment? as it doesn't work. I'd be interested to hear the Sportex. Will see if i can get a video of mine to compare...

I attempted to post a photo of the system I bought, I aren't sure how to post videos yet but I'll send a link to a YouTube video I'll make. Mine doesn't sound much different to standard which is pretty annoying. I can't seem to find a janspeed anywhere, I would be interested in a backbox, non on eBay atm.

Mine is a touch throaty right off idle, don't know the rpms as I don't have a tach(mines a seicento s) lol

what about getting one made? i dont really know how much it costs, but i made one for mine and it sounds pretty decent.
