The time has come to fit new tyres to my Seicento Schumacher she is not lowered and runs standard Schumacher rims
She has a set of Sonars fitted at the moment but these are cracking around the tread although I am unsure of the age of these as they came fitted to the car when I bought her.
I have found these in 175/50r14
Sonar SX608
Pirelli P6000

Or in 185/50r14
Yokohama A539

Does anyone have a preference on any of the above or does any other spring to mind
Cost isn't as important as the quality or performance of the tyre

I have always found the Nankang toursport 611 fine for my spirited driving needs. About £30 each online without fitting.

Some people say the older Nankang were no good... I recon if you spin in the wet then your going too fast for the conditions rather than blaming the tyres...

I am bias to the 13" selection

Of course i'm not saying the more expensive tyres are not better...

I'd rather bite off my own wedding tackle off than use Pirelli tyres - bad memories of the lethal ditch finder 12" Pirelli (Cinturato?) fitted as standard to Minis. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Pirelli/P6000.htm
Yoko A539 are OK -used them in 12" & 13" for countless years, dry grip is good but wet grip isn't the best & gets less once they wear in. (also available in 175/60/14). http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Yokohama/A539.htm
Personally i adore my (15") Uniroyal Rainsport3 -but they only do a 185/55/14.

I'm on my first 14" Cento too and tyres are a pain in the a**. Sonars seem to be the only tyre available.
Wouldn't recommend the 539. I had them on my 5 and they were crap in the wet.
I agree with Purf tho. The Nankang Toursport's were great with the 13's.

I'll be looking for 14" too. What is the best tyre profile for 40 mm lowered sei 45 or 50?

The factory 175/50/14 is a pretty good size i'm lowered 35mm

The current tyre on the wheel is 185.
Not sure if I was looking at the right thing but the alloy "OFF" says "OFF 45", tried it on but its rubbing, will it fit? If yes then what spacers should I get?

dadandlad If you're after just two tyres in 175/50-14 sonars, I've literally just taken 2 off like new down to changing tyre size and are surplus to requirements. I can get tread measurements for you tomorrow when I'm in work?
