I have no oil to my camshaft, I have removed the oil spray rail and checked for oil from the cyl head (not a drop).
I blew compressed air down the cyl head passage, there is no blockage, in fact there seemed to be no resistance at all?
I checked the oil pressure, at about 1200 rpm with a cold engine I was getting 75 psi.
Any suggestions before I pull the head off would be much appreciated.

PS I only did the head gasket about a year ago.

Cheers.

I do not think I put the gasket on wrong (hope) as i'm pretty sure I checked for oil at the spray rail. also i think if it was on wrong I would not be able to blow air down the oil gallery. when I take it off I will let you know.
Cheers

I decided to remove the sump before the head, a complete waste of time as there is nothing worth seeing. On the plus side, with the car jacked up i could feel air coming out of the front of the head when I blow compressed air down the oil gallery. Next job head gasket

Thanks for all your help. I remove the Head today and yes it was round the wrong way. I should be shot for making such a basic mistake. I could not understand why there was not more oil dripping off the engine. This act of stupidity will live with me for years, anyway you live and learn, new head set on its way.

Cheers again Steve

The head gasket has now been changed (the diagonal slot in the head gasket goes to the front of the block)
This time I definitely checked for oil at the spray rail.
For anyone that might be interested, the oil pressures were:
- 80 PSI cold idle
- 12 - 15 PSI (after the fan had been on 3 times) hot idle
- 80 PSI at 3000 RPM
- The oil probably wasn't up to working temp, but it's a rough guide

Here are some images of the head gasket.

Cheers,

Steve
