Hi. This is my first post.

I'm trying to sort out my daughters trusty seicento. It's started cutting out when it gets hot. Then it won't restart for a while until it gets cooler.

I can reproduce this in the garage by leaving it idling, and after a while (15mins maybe) it cuts out - at exactly the same time that the cooling fans cut in. I have repeated this several times.

If I pull the fuse out for the fans, the problem does not occur, but putting the fuse back in once the car has got hot will immediately cause it to cut out.

However, unfortunately if I let it cut out with the fans operational, removing the fuses after cut out does not enable restart - only waiting ten minutes or so.

From what I can work out, the fan circuit is completely separate from the engine management, other than sharing a fuse box. I'm going down a route that says dodgy earths somewhere, temperature sensitive, so when the fans cut in the sudden extra current drops the voltage to the ems, but I admit it doesn't fully explain the symptoms.

Does anyone have any similar experience?
