I'm looking for some advice about my 2002 1.1 fiat seicento sporting. I was wondering if the gearbox from my old 2003 1.2 fiat punto will fit in the seicento? My puntos piston rings have perished and caused 2 cylinders to fill with oil, I have purchased the seicento yesterday, the gearbox seems to work okay until I try to use reverse which grinds every time no matter what I do. Before I sell or scrap the punto I'd like to know if I can salvage the gearbox for the seicento to fix this issue.

Yes, should fit, but will need bits swapping over from the Sei. You need to chaeck the driveshaft coupling are the same, there is the possibility the Sei has wet shafts and the Punto dry.

In the meantime try adjusting your clutch, the Sei is cable, not like the hydraulic Punto.
