As said above sounds like a faulty torque sensor

You'll get the red power steering light in no way of tuning it off rear without sorting the pass fault out or breaking the bulb my, pass decided it didn't want to play ball anymore so I pulled the maxi fuse out behind the battery for the pass I actually preferred driving around without it
 
Absolutely! This is my 4th Sei and all my others didn't have PAS and tbh you get more steering feedback from it.
Is the fuse obvious? (I'll still have the light on the dash?)
Is there no way of finding the pins on the ECU and sticking a resistor between them?
 
I'm sure it would be easy to remove the PAS motor to see if it is too heavy or not.
It may be fine.
It will be nothing like trying to turn a normal hydraulic PAS steering with engine off.
 
Just out of interest. Was PAS also an option on the facelift model? Or was it a permanent addition. The reason I ask is that there's no way fiat would have 2 completely different ecu's for pas & non-pas and if the non-pas steering column has no electronics in it, then there must be a way to perform a cambus removal of the pas option.
