Hi , hope you can help me. I have a 2002 SX and it has been off the road for about 4 months. Unfortunately the battery was run down to completely flat. Recharged the battery and she started no problem and all is working accept the Air bag warning light dose not switch off.
I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to see if that would reset it but no good. Does anybody know how to reset the system at minimal expense? Many thanks.

Sadly you need a Vagcom OBD2 interface with the right connector plus the software to look at the fault and try a reset.

Sometimes when starting the car, the airbag Ecu appears to detect a low voltage on the monitored loop.
I think this can happen when the car is started while the air bag Ecu is initialising (ignition on and off several times quickly without the light going out), but not 100% certain.
Had to reset mine 3 times in the last 6yrs, usually after a stall and quick restart.
