Budget, time and wanted outcome are the deciding factors
I'd at least also replace the big end bearings.
Some of the things you
could replace and modify
Crank seals
Core plugs
Big end bearings
Bearing shells
Balance bottom end
Balance rods
Clean up the cylinder head / piston crowns (remove any carbon)
Diy port match / polish cylinder head
Polish piston crowns
New valves and guides
New tappets
Clean and paint everything
New bolts and various fittings
Replace oil pump (expensive from Fiat, cheaper from Poland)
Waterpump
Thermostat
Cambelt / tensioner
Again it depends on what you want to use the engine for, racing / rallying then potentially all of the above. If you just want a refresh and the engine to (probably) out live the car then new bearings would probably be a good idea.
I recently rebuilt my 16v engine, including porting and polishing it all myself. Feel free to read -

I'd never dismantled an engine or attempted any of this before. You can do it anything and if you need any help someone on here might be able to advise you
