OK - this is a follow on from my previous post. Having removed the motor I have examined it carefully for problems. The trouble is I can't work out how it works - neither Haynes nor Porter's wiring diagrams are much help.
The motor has 3 states - Parked; Intermittent; Continuous (I think they are both probably 'fast').
Yet it effectively has only two wires going into it plus earth. Five pins - black (earth); empty; white/red; white; orange (the white might be pale blue). But the white/red and white pins are joined internally, so they count as only one. 3 states but only 2 control wires, one of which must be the continuous supply for the 'park' function. How does it do it?
