Hi,

i recently switch my rusty 899cc seicento for the newer 1,1mpi (50th anniversary).

I'm not enjoying this engine and i'm wondering what improvement can be done.

I have a Inox collector/cat from a New 500 (1242cc) i think it may fit but not sure.

I also have a 1,2 16v Throttle body and a spare inlet manifold to bore out.

I think that the Mpi is not as good as a SPI to tune but don't know if it can be really effective or is it better to leave it stock ?

Thanks and sorry for my english.

I have a 1,2 16v throttle body but don't know if it is useful and if the ecu will handle this

Ok thanks so i will leave it stock maybe just the cat... and throw it away soon cause it really suck.

I dont think ive ever owned a car with such a free revving engine. Feels far more powerful than its 54bhb because the car is so light. As said, use all the revs.
Mines for sale but i will miss it, and secretly I wont be heartbroken if it doesnt sell.

Do you own an mpi ? Because I agree with you for the spi but the mpi is boring as hell... Gearbox isn't the same its a very long gearbox...

And you can't tune this engine apparently ?

Maybe a swap is a good option but for a daily that's a bit risky

You can tune the engine fine, It's just the Ecu does not like it.
Best Seicento to start with is an Abarth Spi I would say.
I had a 50th version when I lived in Poland and was pretty lame. Handling was pants and felt gutless.

Best thing I did to my basically standard 1108 mpi was fit an 866 cam that made it so much more fun to drive imho seem to free up some power down low and alone seemed to let my engine actually pull all the way to the limiter as with the old cam it seemed to stop making any power past 6000rpm

No trouble with the ecu after fitting the 866 cam ? I haven't the same engine that you have so maybe my ecu is more restrictive ? :/

I've got a micro ecu it's meant to be a very very fussy ecu but in all honest it was fine with the 866 abit lumpy when I first out it on but a few 100 miles and verious speeds you wouldn't know it had a cam change
