Technical Hub Nut Removal.....

Should be normal anti-clockwise to remove. Are you sure the staking is completely free, even a small bit may prevent nut removal. It could just be rusted on. Soak in releasing agent, PlusGas is good in the UK. WD-40 or equivalent is not really good enough, needs a proper release fluid. Soak well, re-apply an hour or so later, leave to soak overnight.
Apply longest breaker bar, heave, swear.
Good luck.
If it has been off before, perhaps someone over-tightened it as they had no torque wrench.

Thanks for the info: decided I had to 'Man up' and use a bit(but not a lot' of Brute Force and Ignorance....my 'extension bar' was augmented by the seat section of a 'spin cycle' and with out damage to me, or seat section(I kid you not)
Anyway, nuts cracked and removed...now carefully taking things apart!!

Had knocked back the stakes' earlier just needed 'the man' bit that must have been missing earlier..

WD40...Never drink the stuff TBH but there isn't much choice out here in Spain. There seems to be very little in the way of 'professional' tools and consumable material like 'Copper-slip/grease' seems only mechanics get that stuff from some 'magic stash'..

The small extension bar in my (cheap :roll eyes:) tool kit(bought at Spain's equivalent of Halfords/so they think!!) just snapped off earlier...Made in PRC says on the box but probably made in Malaga!!
Thanks for the advice...always good to have someone looking over my shoulder so I don't fu/# things up...

Watch this space, no doubt there will be more shenanigans to come..:slayer:
