Ever since my Seicento Schumacher went in 2003, I've regretted parting with it.

I've been looking for it for ages (long since dead I think) & a suitable unmolested example.

I thought I'd found one this week but it was on an A frame & had been towed so had non standard hardware.

It was also £2200 but was in VGC.

I saw this yesterday, spoke to the garage today & pulled the trigger on it :)

It's in Sittingborne & I'm in South Wales so collecting it on the 24th on the way back from the Chunnel.

Excited, can't wait. I guess it's rare? Fully checks out, full history, only 24k miles.

Saw this car on ebay this morning...better be quick or someone else might 'ave it??

Very nice...looking for a Sei for my son...a bit more basic though..

Home now :)

Drives like new, interior like new, a few tiny car park dings to sort and the usual differences in painted plastic / metal paint fade.

Smitten already.......

Had a potter earlier & added a few of the trinkets I'd ordered for it.

Needs a new (bigger) chrome tailpipe too & trying to source better front speakers.

Cheers,

Simon

Fitted new wheel centre caps today, locking wheel nuts & 19mm covers.

Wheels look really good.

I also bought & fitted new under bonnet insulation felt & loads of clips from fiat.

Over £70:cry:

Still got the pedals to refurb & fit (looks tricky) & the alloy gear surround / handbrake lever.

Also, needs a good clay & machined polish.

Using it on the 16 mile return commute tomorrow. Panda has a rest day:D

Ok, update time. Not driven much as off sick but have been able to spend some time pottering & having help off my FiL.

The car had a three stage machine polish finished off by a coat of Autoglym Lifeshine to top it off. The dull paint close up is now really bright.

Someone had had a go before & almost went through the rear bumper lacquer so treaded carefully there.

Fitted a new aerial base & mast and the original Clarion Radio / CD player.

Fitted a sunglasses holder in the space where a grab handle would go on the driver's side.

Fitter the gear surround & hand brake pull from a breaker Schumacher.

Fitted a custom boot liner & various Abarth badges.

Still have the pedals to fit. I've had them cleaned up but drilling holes in the pedals looks a scary task.

I've got a glass polishing kit to get rid of some pretty serious up / down window scratches on the driver's side. On the list. Once done, I've got the Lifeshine glass guard to apply.

Possibly need to have a look at the heater cock. I'm pretty sure the blown air is a bit warm even when set to blue / cold.

Got to replace the chrome exhaust tip. The Halfords add on wasn't for me. Any idea how to get the original tip off?

Finally, I've tried & failed to fit a dummy red flashing light as can't find a feed on the ignition barrel wire plugs. Annoying the F out of me.

Cheers,

Simon

Nice one! :D

The exhaust tip is brazed on, I think. You just have to grind it off.

The Younger Mrs S' Cinquecento has an OMP back box (twin-DTM pipes that poke towards the kerb a bit.. :D ) but the OE silencer was a flat oval so the bumper had the cut-out for it. With the Seicento bumper you might just have to settle for "just" a bigger round exhaust.

What glass kit did you use?

Gerrard my temporary Stilo JTD while I fix my 145 dead piston/engine rebuild temporarily while I repair the rear subframe on my 155... has had quite a hard life judging by the stone-chips on the bonnet... and the windscreen is also very poor (though surprisingly not chipped).

Ta,

Ralf S.

Thanks Ralf. The glass repair kit was fantastic. Scary using it via a drill but the three grades of abrasive pads plus the finishing polish did a brilliant job on the side window scratches.

Just the exhaust tip now. And that effing flashing LED!!!

Would just buying a easy fit alarm with flashing LED be a solution?.

Quick question, did you use a cutting compound before polishing out? I tried tcut followed by a polish on mine as the paint is very faded in places (2001) but I suspect mine is covered in lacquer as there was no paint on the cloth nor did the paint become 'red' again?
