Hi
I am a new member and have just purchased a Seicento Schumacher which I should be trailering home at the weekend

This is only my second ever Fiat the first is my 126 Bis which I have just about finished restoring

Now it does require some work doing which I dont have a problem with.

My main concern is the immobiliser which is faulty, not too sure what the problem is but if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated

Regards
Mark

Welcome :)

When you say it's faulty, what happens/doesn't happen?
When you turn the key the key/CODE light should come on momentarily, and then go out so that the car can start. Do you see the light at all? Do you hear the fuel pump prime? Does the starter spin?

Hi
Thank you for your reply

To be perfectly honest I haven't a clue what is happening with the immobiliser at the moment as I have bought the car unseen and know it has a problem:eek:

I just wanted a few basic pointers as to how it works

You have given me a few clues already with your answer

So it should see the chip in the key and put the light out which is a good starting points

I think it has stood for quite a while by the sound of things so this may have something to do with it

I know my question is very vague and difficult to answer without further information

Okay car now at home
When I insert the key the code light stays lit
The fuel pump doesn't prime but the engine will turn over

I have checked the 7.5 A fuse which is okay

I have removed steering column shroud and held the induction loop further over the key to no avail

The key is blue with the No2 stamped on it and two circles with a triangle through them

Is there any way to check the induction loop ?

Or any other ideas

Thanks

Mark

Hi Guys

Still struggling to get the Immobiliser problem sorted

I sent the key and Immobiliser to a firm called Autotronics to have it checked out, they called today to say no fault found on key data.
Senior engineer will test again tomorrow afternoon

Where can i get a Aerial from to try if they don't find a problem

Anyone have any other ideas please
