Hi there, i have been running fully moded Cinq with the 1.2 16v (MK1) conversion since 4 years now. Soon i have started wondering, as i wish to make something more drastic with this vehicle. So the idea basically:
Engine - 1.4 t-jet
Transmission, propeler shaft, rear axle - new Panda 4x4
A know a Cinq with something similar, it is from Italy and is called something like Turbotubies or so. But i beleive it's with axle from the old Panda (Steyr 4x4)

Anyone here with opinion i am missing something major or any big challenges to be overseen ? Except the 5k-7k EUR which would i would be off

Thanks

Well, I've heard that the diff on the new Panda is weak, so it is likely that a t-jet will shred it. On the other hand, there was a Panda 4x4 turbo (or was it compressor?) project somewhere here running without any problems (reportedly).

I am more worried about the transmission and transfer case in particluar, diff could be changed with a stronger one.

But, why 4x4?
You know that if you aim on more grip to reduce your time you will be loosing on weight.
Something around 100 kg more

It really won't matter too much if you're using a t-jet in a cento.

The 4wd setup on panda etc are lighter than a lot on the market, but even if it did come in at 100kg, you'd still be looking at a minimum power of around 140bhp in a car weighing under 900kg, still plenty quick, with a lot more traction off the line to boot, which is their weaker point when you start adding more power.

If you go early Panda route, ive replaced loads of the rear propshaft centre support bearings so offer a lower price if it sounds noisy as - if i recall- they arent cheap

Great car i thought , a second hand car dealer i used to do a lot of work for used to love them from the main dealer if they were a year or 2 too old for their stock.

About half of them had the bearing worn out.

It was my car and I fitted a Rotrex supercharger to my 2006 Panda 4x4. Setup made about 110bhp and 100lbs/ft on stock transmission, without issues for nearly 30,000 miles. In the end I suspect I over-sped (over rev'd) the Rotrex at some point and the compressor side internals fell apart, but the car was 100% reliable up until that point. Clutch was OK as the s/c lifts the torque progressively, unlike a turbo and view was that much more than say 120lbs/ft on the stock box would risk damage. No issues with the rear diff (mine was with viscous coupling, not the later electro-magnetic switching version on the 169 car).

My concern would be the space available to run the prop-shaft down the underfloor as the car is Cinqie is not designed for it really.
