As you can read, my fuel tank is leaking(LUCKY ME-NOT!!!!:().
So I'we got a few questions:
1.How much fuss is it to take it down??
2.Can it be repaired(welded,fibre glass...Any other ideas???)
3.How much does a new one cost in GB...
4.A used one??
Thanx for the answers...
Hope to be out and running soon...And not "going down in a blaze of glory";)
Bye...

is it a cinq or a sei?on a newer sei you may get it fixed under the recall.
welding a tank is a no no though you can use products such as petro patch(think thats the name)
was some tanks on ebay recently for about £40 new!but no longer listed im afraid

scrappy prices vary a fair bit so worth phoning around

Is a cinq...Why would welding be a nono???Without the fuel, witha a washed out tank, with flame extinguisher at my side...Wouldnt it work??
This stuf you named petropatch-some kind of liquid steel thigy-epoxi stuf that turns hard on air...How difficult is it to get it down??
And can it be done from the inside, or do i hawe to crawl underneath my car...I know i will hawe to crawl under it:)
Thanx m8

Cinq tanks is metal and it leaks at the seam of the two halfs, tanks can be had for £50 new, you would need to bring it down for a decent repair so why not just replace it.

wow metal. would have thought they would be the plastic type used on most cars since the early 90's.

Not worth fiddling with metal tanks. Known of one exploding while being welded and they had emptied it! it only takes a bit of petrol vapour inside an enclosed space mixed with gas and a spark to make a home made bomb.

Thanx guys...Il take it down with my girlfriends dad(that man is ingenious)and we'll se what can be done...hope to get trough this as cheap as posible....We'll se...And ill let u know:)
Until then...

DON"T WELD IT!

DO NOT WELD IT!

REALLY DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO THINK ABOUT WELDING!!

tried it with a motobike tank years ago. It wasn't a nice experience. Big BIG boooooms. and a bright white flash infront of your eyes. then your realise (luckiliy) that all the hair has vanished from your fingers.

Adrenaline rush but not reccomended.

£50 for a new tank well worth the money.

Hi...
The leaky tank problem is solved-a used (1year old)tank did the trick:)Got it for 80Euros (new one is 250:()And fitted it the same ewening(ripping off 3bolts in the proces, driling new holes...)
So now im leak free again:)Am just waiting for the next thing:)We all know that something always happens:)
Until then...
Bye
