Hi there, new to the site and the forum, but looking for a bit of advice on my fiat cinquecento, if any one could help it would be much appreciated.
I have a L reg fiat cinquecento and recently whilst driving i heard a loud 'clonk' sound. I found that the plastic quadrant that connects the clutch pedal to the cable had broke. So i brought the replacement part (plastic quadrant) and got a mechanic to fit it. I gave the car a quick drive down the road but unfortunately it wouldn't go into 3rd or 4th. Now the mechanic tried with it and says that it will go into gear in the engine its just with the gear stick it won't. Does anybody know what this would be?
He suggested the gear linkage cable? is that correct?
If so does any one know where I would be able to get one? How much Id be looking at?
I called fiat but they don't stock the part with the car being so old, but gave me the number which is '7790692' I believe.
