I just bought this:

Is the 1.2 16v engine worth much? I mean if the seicento mpi is worth £100, what about this?

I'm already annoyed with it as the gearbox is slipping

i bought one of them from the mk2 last year for my missus car for £120, the mor desirable one is the 1.2 16v from the mk1 sporting or 85, as that is the direct fit for the cento 16v conversion, mk1 inlet, ecu, exhaust mani and loom ect

The only usable parts from the 2 or the 2b is the actual block itself... the ancillaries are of no use as is the manicat and inlet ect

if using the mk2 head the stud pattern is also less desirable as the manifolds that need to be used for the cento conversion are usually expensive and therefore again making the mk2 engines less desirable

hope that helps a little

Hello,

It depends on the objective.
If you want to use as a daily, it's better to start from the mk1.
But for Race, you will find more performance parts to fitt on the mk2 compared to the mk1.
The internal is the same.
Only joint exhaust and inlet are different, with electrical throttle, ecu more difficult to use, independant spark, ...

Also, for race, the brakes could be very good to fitt on your Cento.
