Hey Guys and Girls, this is my first time posting on here so here goes. Be gentle haha.

I bought one of these little beasts, seicento sporting 1.1 MPI, on a whim from the missus aunt for a whopping 80quid as it wouldn't start and so she bought a new car. It had 7 months MOT and as it was before October I got to keep the remaining months Tax too on that. Quick starter change, some new shocks and springs and she was good as new and epic fun to drive. BUT my mother had a little drive of it and bang she was in love with it too :( So I buckled and as she needed a little run around she had the car for her birthday :bang:

Needless to say I was hooked, cheap to run, cheap to fix, cheap.....ish to tune and what seems like a huge wealth of knowledge on here had me looking for another, enter my Schumacher haha. Had I known then what I knew now I wouldn't have picked it but hey ho that's what happens when you make snap decisions without doing some research haha.

Tried to upload pics here but I can't seem to get it to work.

What I've done so far:
Enlarged throttle body (courtesy of Sparky),
Magnecor Leads,
Iridium Plugs (also a full service followed naturally)
The "Focus" style induction kit with additional pipe for cold air,
Disabled ABS,
Upgraded shocks and springs all round (-30mm),
Polybushes all round,
Keyfob kit fitted.

The guides on here were amazing and I thank everyone for taking the time to put them together. The little tips and tricks really help speed things up.

Want to do:
I have larger front Calipers (in for sandblasting),
Calipers for rear (in for sandblasting),
New or Larger Master cylinder/servo,
ABS sytem Removal,
Exhaust Manifold & SS system,
Anti-roll bar for rear,
Quick rack,
Gut the inside and possible poly windows.
Engine swap and or 998/988 cam?

I've researched loads on the site and found most of the info ready or my future mods however I've over researched some bits and I think now over complicated it.

Brakes: ABS removal, has anyone done this? I'm assuming I can just remove the pump, unplug it, change the master cylinder to a non-ABS one and make new pipes to that?? Will I have any errors, are there other ABS controler ECUs I need to remove? And are there any larger Master Cylinders I can fit to cope with larger brake calipers? What are the little valves that are next to the master cylinder, one pipe runs each side in the rear?

Engines: I was under the impression I could take the punto 60bhp engine or 75bhp engine from a punto and drop it into my Sei plug and play style, then I read that I could fit the 60bhp 1.2 punto engine or my 1.1 engine with this nifty little 998 or 988 cam for more power. But after a bit more reading, trying to find what year engine I needed as there are a few variants I read that no, because I have a Schumacher alas I cannot fit a different engine without serious mods? I'm lost now haha. Can anyone help?

I know with the TB,cam,1.2 engine, Exhaust manifold and intake on a map I'd have around 80bhp maybe 85bhp at a push but the cars so light I'd be happy with that.

Sorry for the huge post, I've searched and searched but after reading the last article about the ECU feel a little lost now.

Any help is much appreciated.

Rear disc conversion is waste of time unless you fit adjustable pressure regulators for the rear. No upgrades on the master cylinder so fluid transfer ratios have to be looked at. Hand brake cable can be another issue.

ABS is a change of master cylinder and unplug it's Ecu. Then remove the warning LED.

Any tuning mods to the engine are limited due to the type of Ecu. This includes fitting a different engine. Fitting a Punto 60 engine will mean that. About 60Bhp.

The standard plastic Mpi inlet manifold is restrictive, so big power gains are out regardless of a bigger TB.

Fitting the 866 Cam can add more power but the Ecu will start to throw a wobbler if it has not done so from the 60 engine, Or rather, the Mk2 Punto Mpi engine you will need.

If you want a bigger engine, then get the factory Ecu to match.

I thought that the handbrake cable issue could be overcome with the use of a Mk2 Punto cable? Those two little bits on the rear brake pipes are fluid pressure regulators then and I will need those?

I've removed the warning lamp as I've also removed the sensors from the hubs, changed the wheel bearings for non ABS units by accident. After some searching on here fund the problem. Where is the ECU for the ABS?

Hmm whatever engine I fitted would have had the head done with some basic head work too, Is there an alternative to the MPI inlet for better flow?

Engine swap, would it be easier to start with a standard SEI MPI sporting with a big ECU for plug and play or is it just a case of removing my ECU and engine and buying a punto 60 engine and plugging that ECU in? Or am I looking at a ton of wiring?

Gutted now, knew I wouldn't have huge power but with the mods I have the car felt a lot perkier and seemed to want to go a bit more so thought the extra few mods would finish it off nicely. Would I be able to fit my 866 Cam in my 1.1 or is that still a no go?

Thanks for the fast reply.

The ABS pump has the Ecu on it? (cant remember) and has rear brake compensators integral.. You will need the Spi version compensators as fitted near the servo, or fit aftermarket adjustable ones.

Wiring for another Ecu will be involved to say the least. The Schuemacher MF59/M1 Ecu is the worst of the bunch for issues.
Supersprint 4-2-1 manifold and 866 Cam with some port smoothing and raised compression gives about 62Bhp for the 1.1 and goes quite well, but with erratic power and the engine management light on and off at times and can end up staying on. The more you try to tune, the worse it gets.
Spi version cars are easier for changing parts.
Any Euro3 and beyond type Ecu will be trouble without a remap and good luck finding a place to do it.
Best power upgrade is 1.2 16v and Mk1 Ecu. Still quite a project though.

Ok I can see the valves either side of the sevo you mention for the back on my mums Sporting. Thats also 1.1 MPI but no ABS. I'll order a master cylinder and valves based on those numbers. Certainly tidy up/ give more room in the engine bay. Can trace all the wires through the loom and be rid of those too with a bit of luck.

Surely if going 1.2 16v you may as well go the 1.4 16v route? better bang for buck and what not?

So if I took the head off my 1.1, skim it, get a bit of work done, put the cam in and use my tuning software to have a fiddle with the ECU via OBD port it should run smoothish? Would having a variable cam pulley help to tweak the cam timing help or not worth it?

I was going to use the car as a tiny engine track toy/ niht event car. Keep the engine small, stay in the 1400cc class and make the car as light as possible. May even utilise a lightened flywheel. Due to the low weight of the car it would see tidy BHP per Ton and so be a little flier on the tight twisty lanes.

I'm thinking now it may be easier to use the standard Sei sporting without ABS and big ecu and just drop in a 1.2 8v from a punto 60 with the ECU, with the 866cam and all the usual mods and ECU tweak. Would that work?
