Just wondering if anyone has run their cinq or sei on super unleaded? Does it make any difference? My dad used to run it in his cinq

If the ignition timings are correct, all Cinq & Sei should be fine on 95RON Petrol.

My 899 Cinq pinks under full load on 95RON, so I run it on 99RON.
(using 99RON is an easier "fix" than trying to loosen little old screws that will probably snap!)

Yes. It'll make a big difference in the amount of money you spend on fuel.
If you read the claims on the fuel companies' web sites, you'll notice the percentage gain in economy is always less than the percentage price difference. So no gains to be made.

The engine was designed to run on a lower octane than UK standard 95 unleaded. No need to go higher.

Not really; I've tried both momentum 99 & BP's short lived super 102 in my 899 some years back, but never noticed any difference.
If the ignition timing is correct for 95RON, using 99RON or 102RON can actually reduce power as the burn happens too late.
To make use of higher Octane Petrol you need to advance the ignition.
Without that you are just burning money and making less power!

Hi:) what little screws? How do you adjust the timing?

Little bracket holding the TDC sensor by the crank pulley.

Yes I know the one;) totally forgotten about that sensor! Mine doesn't have any adjustment its just bolted on unlike the earlier cinquecentos with adjustment slots. Thanks for the reply:)
