Just done a repair on my cinq and have primered and painted it, however I am unsure about the clearcoat?

I have some 3m finesse it polish and if I polish the car I don't appear to get any colour off it.
Reading online I get the impression it is meant to be just a straight colour coat, hence the fading they sometimes get.

Can anyone confirm either way please? Thanks

If you have cut the paint with t-cut or similar and you have no colour on you're cloth, likelyhood is it has clearcoat over the top. Clearcoat usually comes off slightly white when cut.

What colour is it?

It won't hurt if you clear it, just remember to either cut and polish the other panels to suit the fresh paint. Or dull the fresh down to suit the other panels.

Let's have some photos, don't be shy.

All done. I took a punt and put clearcoat on anyway. I'm 99% sure the rest of the car has.
For my first ever bodywork repair other than a chip, it looks pretty good.

Will put some pics up when I get a chance. Now I need a new windscreen!!!

Well done for having a go
I'm doing the same myself this weekend
I've done a bit before on gates and fences then my sons moggie and I'm starting to get a feel for it, but I've got a long way to go before I achieve a decent finish
Mines yellow too, I'm going to try it without a clear coat and see how it looks
