Took car again today after changing pipe and using cataclean which I picked up from halfords . Still not right if anything it's worse than last time when I went co2 was up around 4.01 when last time it was down to 0.9-1.03 so am really struggling as to what is the cause .

It needs MultiECUScan (MES) plugged in at startup and watch the readings as it warms up. Temp sensor was mentioned earlier, but the one that controls the fuelling has not apparently been checked, tested, or replaced. MES will show if the engine is apparently warming up as it should. Quite likely it is getting hot, but the sensor reports cold, so overfuels it.

Have seen a few on eBay is there a specific fitment or would one like this be ok http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIAT-ALFA...867?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4193146a13

Yep, that one looks ok.

Look here: http://www.multiecuscan.net/
Have a good read.
Download the free version. This limits the number of feeds you can watch at a time, but might be enough to show the issues. If you need more, you'll need to buy the licence.

Unless someone on here, nearby offers help using their licensed version.

Ok , I've ordered the 3 pin adapter too. Was just browsing round on forum and came across a post about adjusting the injector fuel pressure on the throttle body ,(bigger injector for spi tuning post.)
I was just wondering if adjusting this would help me ?? Wasn't sure if I was to turn it down (turn anticlockwise) would that help put less fuel through the injector into throttle body hopefully resulting in lower co2 emissions. Or does fuel pressure not change the amount of fuel ?

Yeah I understand that was just wondering as I am still waiting for adapter to turn up and just stumbled across that thread. Also curious if that would affect amount of fuel being injected.
I think I had put a wrong hose on the throttle body to map sensor ( had put a braided hose on buy have ordered a silicon one just incase any air gets through or anything)

So the other part has turned up and connected it to the adapter plugged it in to the ecu tried to connect but all I was getting was "connection failed" the port com1 doesn't exist .
I'm not 100% if the driver had installed on the laptop fully or something not too sure.
Does anyone know what this mean com1 doesn't exist?

Ok, ignore the above I managed to get the right interface to be able to connect multiecuscan to my laptop and car however as said before On one of the posts I need the full version, is there a way to rent the full version for cheaper rather than buying it ? Or if there's anyone who has a full version I could borrow I would be very greatfull lol

The IAW scan 2 worked to get access to information many thanks.
There was 3 errors on the ecu and all said stored these are as follow
1) Throttle position sensor (reason) Short to +Vcc
2) Lambda sensor (no reason given)
3) Injector (Reason) Short to GND/+Vcc/Therm

I also ran the tests which all passed except for "Generic Relay" which failed but don't know what this generic relay is for.
The tests that passed are
Fuel Pump Relay
Injector
Coil 1
Coil 2
EVAP Valve
REV Meter
AC Relay

I also checked Manifold Absolute Pressure as this is the pipe which we replaced but wasnt sure if I replaced with correct pipe (awaiting Silicon pipe) will upload a photo of the graph to see if it looks correct

Pass or fail, without detail is not as helpful as we'd wish. However,
Throttle position sensor and injector ground issues suggest there is an earth connection not as good as it should be. There's a troublesome earth onto the cylinder head I think, look for a wire onto a bolt somewhere around the head top. Also check for an earth wire at or near the ECU. Any or both need to be clean and a good connection.

Lambda fail could well be the root of the problem, but it would have been nice for more detail. A common issue is the heater element inside fails, but this should be ok once hot as the exhaust should heat it.

See my post, number 5 on this thread: https://www.fiatforum.com/panda/352156-fiatecuscan.html That may help you get MES to work, then you can get more info.

One option could be to refit the original throttle body, clear the codes and retest it. This might fix or confirm issues with the injector and TPS.

Relay issue may be a red herring, but there will be a master relay to provide power to the ECU. If this fails, the engine won't run, but your test may be showing a low voltage, perhaps connection issues. It'll be in the main fuse/relay box, but don't know which one. The handbook may tell you, look in the repairs section for fuses, should find a diagram and explanation of all the fuses and relays.

Ok thank you for the information I will have a look after work to check the earths ect cheers

Would the stored info of the lambda sensor cause the new one we fitted to not be 100% efficient?
