Don't be too disheartened, as you got the car cheap. I would say slightly above scrap value ?

The main thing you need to check is Rust free, else I don't think is worth the effort, obviously depends on the level of rust.

As for the headgasket, they are simple enough to do, or possible just change the engine to a 1.2? I.e. just 1.2 block and refurb your head, put it together fit it in car.

Hope you get this going again!

Thanks
Ming

ok so you have an 899cc thanks to a quick WhatCar app check, if the shell is rust free then you have a spanky base for a good project, personally I think the price is ok even with a blown HG.

As Ming says but with a slight change, you can either pull the head off clean it up, get it skimmed and throw it back together with a new gasket kit or you can pull the lot out and drop in either a sporting 1108cc, a Punto 1.2 block with sporting 1108cc head or go the full hog and throw a full 1.2 16v along with upgraded brakes etc.

at least you have a Mk1 so its easier to work on and do swaps but with it being an 899cc you will have to swap the loom and ecu etc for a Mk1 Sporting item.

Even if you're not interested in modding the car it might still be worth repairing IF the car is solid and tidy. Tatty paint can be sorted with a little bit of work and the beauty of these cars is the simplicity and low cost of parts so head gasket shouldn't cost you much if you do the job yourself.

If it's as bad as that and isn't as described in the listing ask for your money back. Ebay tend to side with the buyer in cases like this so if you really don't want the car open a case against the seller. And don't let the fact she is an old lady put you off, she still deceived you.

Ian.

The car was listed as spares due to a stuck spark plug an matrix blowing cold and body been tatty so I kind of was expecting it ..shame really it's a lovely car honest 43k

Fix it still worth it, if you sell on after its fixed. But watch the cento bug don't hit you got mine cheap (free) and thought about just doing the work and selling on then saw it on a set of Pgt wheels and fell in love with it

Trust me iv well and truly got the cento bug had over 40 of the wee buggers .just never had a problem with em ..iv been lucky

When I say it's got it issues I mean it haha its got bad paint down one side and the engine issues bar from a little bit of rust on the wing it's a okay car ..oh and the typical door been pulled but ..I think every fiat I've owned had its door pulled at some point or other

sorry to say but ebays money back garantee doesnt apply to vehicles

Having to use it at the moment mayo not returned and oil changed and stuff seams okay fingers crossed ..my panda runs out of mot Tuesday anyone wanna buy that ?

for the price you got it even if you spend another 150 getting it in top condition it will still be a good buy

This.

No disrespect, but you bought a car for £130.... what the hell were you expecting?

It's up to the buyer, especially on auctions to inspect the car before handing over the money, if it doesn't match the description in your opinion, you are not under any obligation to buy, you are entitled to walk away there and then.

Handing over the money is pretty much the final agreement the car is as described and you are happy.

You have not been "fleeced", being "fleeced" would be paying strong money for a car described as perfect/good that had faults which had been hidden/covered up/clocked etc. You paid (more or less) Scrap money for a car with known issues without really checking them, that just happened to possibly be worse issues than you hoped when you did. Them's the breaks.
