Has anyone here put a Punto 75 head in a Sei or Cinque?

Like I said on Facebook, I ran a P75 head on my seicento, well the whole P75 engine but it's worth doing even the P75 head/cam/inlet on a 1.1 as well.

If you ignore the larger ports and different inlet stud pattern (spi/mpi) the P75 head is the same as all the rest.

There are loads of threads on this, with information on the wiring and other sticking points. Also depends as to if your car is SPI/MPI as to the difficulty.

Don't be lazy, do a search.

Thanks for the reply, please don't assume I'm lazy, you know nothing about me - don't be a dick. ?

he makes a fair comment though, this thread only exists cause you couldn't be bothered to do a bit of research, go read some stuff on the topic and then post a question if you don't understand something in particular, or even on one of the many threads about it - there is plenty on this topic on here.

I hear what you're saying but this is the Fiat Forum, not the Fiat Database! Plus, you have no idea of any particular information I was after; the question relates to how many people had done the conversion - something that can't be obtained via a search.

People have the opportunity to NOT respond if they feel the question is below them, in which case I would invite anyone to do just that. :)

Thanks for the reply - as I understand, the MPi Sei inlet should have the same stud pattern as the P75 head?

Indeed they do. So if this is the tone of reply you will be dishing out,I suggest you follow your own advice.

Well i refer to your actual post then...

yes, plenty. How are we supposed to know what you want to know from that? You not even asked anything and whatever it is that you want to know is already here - insulting members that are actually generally helpful nice people who are just stating fact will get you nowhere here.

So go on, ask a specific question on part of the conversion, and we will help you.

In fact, this forum is a sort of database, it has the collective information of hundreds, if not thousands of experiences from many very intelligent people. it also has a search button, in the top left of your screen. Even googling a specific P75 question will probably lead you to a thread on FF.

Posting a one sentence question isn't exactly likely to provoke a massive, step by step guide is it? We're not mind readers.

I was following suit - I'd been told I was "lazy" and that the post existed as I "Couldn't be bothered" to search. Would you stand for being insulted by someone you don't know?

I wasn't given the opportunity to clarify before I was insulted by yourself and the 'generally nice person' so how could you know?

Did you consider that some people here might actually like to discuss their experiences regarding the original question and engage with another member? Isn't that what part of this community is about?

Let's try this then: yes

Awesome - can I ask where you sourced your head from? I'm struggling to find one and would appreciate any help regarding part or casting numbers.

My initial question wasn't design to provoke a step by step guide, just to ascertain if anyone had done the procedure that I could ask further questions.

I'm quite sure if I met one of the many intelligent people at a show or meeting and asked a question, they wouldn't bark "Do a search!" So why is this any different?

Guys, I love these little cars as I'm sure you do too but I see this forum as an opportunity to engage like minded PEOPLE, not search functions.

All jousting aside, in response to you're question where do you source one from, you stand behind a rocking horse with a bucket. They are very rare now, anyone who has a p75 will know it is a p75 and want to shake you by you're ankles until all your money falls out.

Probably you best bet would be to find a large local car dismantler. Go for a walk around armed with some info from the forum, eg they were usually 5 door and will have 75 on the wing.

I believe from my readings, some of the last p60's had the same head and cam, but it would be a lottery.
You could ask an engineering company to try and source a set of valves and seat inserts and convert a p60 head, but again how deep are you're pockets?

your question didn't engage anyone.
You asked a basic question with no context. A search would tell you people have done a 75 swap.
Walk up to someone and ask if they have done a 75 swap, its a yes no answer.
So the thread is over at that.
Your opportunity to clarify is on the opening post. Take this as guidance. You will get far more assistance and knowledge with a well worded question.

Yes, it came with the complete Palio 75 engine off German e-bay. Actually, it is a good place to look for things, only knowing the language and being able to convince the sellers to send outside of Germany is a challenge (apparently they thing that beyond their borders there is only void). Poland would be another source, but multiply the challenge by 10.

The question you should be really asking yourself is if you want just the cam (this already gives gains) or the complete head. If the complete head, then it would be a good idea to make it go with the complete 75 MPI "top", including the ECU. Very popular mod in PL and relatively easy to do (if based on the SPI 1.1 setup, 1.1 MPI is a different story).

There is actually a head with a 866 cam in the scrapyard next to my house (or, there used to be some weeks back), but you would have to give me good price and pay up front for me to be bothered to go and get it ;) I also do not know what shape it is in. It does not have the TB or the ECU anymore (I saw to that :D).

Wrong - see posts 2, 8 and 11.

Thanks for your advice, I had look at some Punto breaking specialists and have managed to source one at PuntoSpares, £75 posted without the cam, but I already have that.

Thanks for the reply and the information, I've managed to source a head to go with the 866 cam I have already but I really appreciate the offer to go looking for me.

I'm hoping to get the head stage three ported/gas flowed etc and then use the existing MPi set up that's currently on the car (02 MPi Schumacher) that has a shortened Punto induction kit and a Sparky 400mm TB.

I reckon that TB will be a bit too big ;)

Punto spares are useful as a last resort, but you can always guarantee that you'll find what you want cheaper elsewhere (if at all).

I'd honestly save your money on the porting. Doing it properly costs big money, and you won't see much gains running a standard 866. Might even feel abit slower with the loss of low-down torque. Better spent on some decent suspension/brakes/tyres, or maybe a lightened flywheel. But that's just my 2p's worth.
Cento186 is the ideal person to ask for any specific info, he did all this recently, before defecting :p
