Tuning Punto 75 head in a cento?

Thanks MarioCinq, I'm now thinking that this may be the best route - I know the 1242 16v Sporting engines have around 80 brake as standard, is there any generation of this engine that would be easier than another?

The MK1 Punto or Bravo as far as I know. Cable TB is what you want complete with Ecu, Ecu connector with as much cable on it as possible, code box and at least one key.
Can be a lot easier to buy a complete car as you can hear the engine before parting with the Cash.

Great idea, I'll start the search. Anyone want a P75 head and 866 camshaft?

CC1 is right, Mk1 Punto or Bravo or if you fancy a 1.4 16v then look at a Stilo.

Just for your Info,
Mk1 Punto Sporting runs 86bhp
Bravo 16v runs 82bhp
Brava 16v runs 81bhp
Stilo 1.2 16v runs 83bhp
Stilo 1.4 16v runs 99bhp

Differences in power are related to Mapping and Inlet design.

This is from my research into it and from when I had my Mk1 Punto Sporting.

The engines appear to be the same but my personal knowledge lies in 8v and there are plenty on here more versed in the 16v's

my 16v cinq was totally stock one bar induction, i even used the stock exhaust mani albeit connected to a fully custom and decat'd exhaust - was plenty fast for a cento really.

Was a quick car, I remember dropping off those speedlines, and you took me out in it. I had a tuned 1.2 8V at the time, and can concede that the 16v was quite a bit faster.

Ok, I'm definitely doing the 1.2 16v conversion. That means I'm definitely selling the 75 head and 866 cam.

I only want what I paid for them and would prefer to sell them as a pair, £35 for the cam and £75 for the head - so £110 plus postage.

Reading this has just made me think so in the next couple of months I know someone who has a mk2 punto 1.2 8v engine engine loom and ecu kit the I might be able to buy

I know I'm going to have to replace loads of other bits to put it into my 900 shell but do I stick with getting that engine prasuming it's mpi or do I go 16v or try and fine a good p60

Because some of the knowledge and advice is something I need in the future

miss my 16v cinqs, deffo a fun engine to have but loving p75 sei i have now although little more power is to come, but mk1 16v engiens probs best with dvs for cinq swaps ;)

The early Punto uses a different Ecu type as fitted to the Bravo (Bosch) and possibly the Brava. The Bosch Ecu is the early version of the newer fly by wire types as used on the 1.2/1.4 16v engines but no one has used one of these as far as I know. Read the thread by voj to see which Marelli Ecu's to avoid if using one of those. You will need an Spi version Ecu mount for the Marelli.
I have a TinyCAD file (free software) with wiring diagrams for my Mpi to Omex conversion available that can be changed for a different Ecu, but you will need the factory wiring diagrams for reference to the abbreviations used.

Hi, i have on question.

My current setup is standard SPI 1.1 engine with Colombo Bariani camshaf, SPI ECU.

Will my cam fit in P75 head? I would like to run 1.1 SPI engine block with P75 head and ITBs with ECU Master Digital ECU Tuner 3 pigyback on SPI ECU.
Is this possible, has enyone some expiriences whit this.

Thank you for your help.

Thanks, so the Cam from current SPI head will fit into P75 head. What about the RPM currently the max RPM is between 7000-7500. Does any one know if I can move it a bit higher with new head lets say about 8000 RPM.

Possible but that is done in the factory Ecu program and not Det3. Also down to balanced engine component and lightness. Not sure what rpm the valves will need better springs.
Factory Ecu is set at 6.8k rpm?
