I have 14" abarth alloys with Continental 185/50 R14 tires.
I want to upgrade my wheels with 20mm spacers.

Well have you tried them on to see if they poke with the spacers on I'm running 15mm hubcentric on my punto gt wheels with 185/45/14 tyres on

Why? If they're Sei Abarth ones they should use 10mm spacers (at the front). While an extra 10mm may improve turn in, it'll do all kinds or weird stuff to the geometry and may adversely affect handling as well as life of suspension components.

Whether the spacers is required on the rear wheels with 185/50 R14 tires?
20mm is a bad idea

15-16mm would even be a bad idea I'm cutting it close on the arches with 16mm 185/55/14s on a 40mm drop is nasty close to the outer arch when cornering

I fitted 20mm spacers on my Stilo and I am scrubbing the tyres on the inner edge and the tracking is right, you may find with 20mm spacers you will eat tyres.

No way, leave them alone.

You will effect centre steering point. You're steering will be heavy, as mariocinq said you will eat tyres, because it will also effect toe out on turns. As fingers said you will massively increase the stress on bottom ball joints and track rods, not worth it.

Just read the number on the back of the wheel that starts with an e or et, then correct that to as close to standard as you can.

20mm spacers look best



but, they causing many problems to the rears!

I removed the spacers of the rear wheels, it's not rubbing anymore but it just does not look so nice

conclusion:
the best balance for 185/50 R14 tires is
20mm Spacers on front and
5mm or none on rears

Then get some wider wheels with the correct offset
