Hello there,

was just having a little tinker with my car (a nice little T reg Fiat Seicento 899) as it has been a bit lacking in pull. I had read that this could be due to a problem with the lambda sensor/fuel air mix so I got the manual out and had a little nosey.

As it turns out there seems to be no lambda sensor on the car....is this normal? I found the spot in the exhaust downpipe where it is supposed to sit but there is just a bolt in there..no sensor. Also had great difficulty in finding where the lambda sensor electrical connection is supposed to be.

Any help would be much appreciated!

All the best!

Jonathan

Early systems only used one lambda sensor, current ones use two.
The single sensor systems often had a position for the second sensor but blanked off.
The first sensor will be before the catalyst, so you'll need to look nearer the engine.
The blanking plug you've found will be after the catalyst and is normal.

Will the alternative lambda sensor site still be on the exhaus?

Thanks folks, yes found it much higher up the exhaust down pipe than it states in the manual (pretty much as soon as the exhaust downpipe leaves the engine) and found the corresponding electrical connection in the engine no problem.

Thanks for all your help

Jonathan :)
