WILL THIS WORK GENTS?

im looking at flexi pipes from the master cylinder ran inside the car to a double piston hydraulic handbrake.

The flexi will then continue to the rear wheels respectively!

Don't think so.
You would take the lines from the master cylinder to the inputs of the handbrake cylinder, the outputs of the handbrake cylinder would then run to the rear cylinders.

The above would replace the run from master cylinder to rear cylinders.

Hi Tomo3292

what are you doing with it? I was seriously thinking of fitting one to mine for autotesting, but after seeing the price Demon Tweeks charge for a dual circuit jobbie,(the choice is overwhelming, but I couldn't see where it was going to fit without a major chop about) I went down the route of "lets get the one working on the car" !!
An hour or 2 of messing later mine was pin sharp, and easily locks up Yokos, I have to say it is VERY good for a bog standard cable handbrake.
Interested to hear your plans

hi mate,

Well i was thinking of keeping the system upgrading to flexi piping and getting rid of the copper stuff.

Then im looking at installing a double piston hydraulic handbrake. Basically running the existing pipes to it then t pieceing each of so one goes to handbrake and the other carries on to the brake disc / drum. i just dont know if there is going to be enough pressure to look the rear wheels up!

Hi,

You shouldn't have any issue locking the rears with a hydraulic handbrake lever - that's really all they are intended to do, but you do have to keep a working cable system as well which confirms to MOT standards or it would be illegal.
If you use discs at the rear, then the HHB will be very worthwhile as generally the handbrake is poor on discs in my opinion. But on Sei drums, a well set up and adjusted system works perfectly well without lots of effort.
I've done a couple of autotests last year where there must have been 15 - 20 full blooded uses of the handbrake on a single test, and I never found mine lacking, but secretly I know I would love one as they look the business if fitted neatly.
Post a few pics if you get it done
