Hello everyone,

Im after some advice on potentially upgrading my seicento P60 MPI to a more powerful 1.2 /1.4 16v engine.

I have learnt a lot so far on the little beast and not only that, ive been getting lost in all these threads about engine upgrades!

in order to convert to 1.4 I take it the stilo engine is there best option???
ive been hearing different opinions on ECUs and how best to run them, isn't a 1.2 16v ECU able to run a 1.4 16V engine?

im guessing theres a lot of other factors and such like however just getting a feel for potentially an upgrade next year!

cheers

CHEERS FINGERS,

Is there a thread for this type of project!! A few questions I have about achieving this.

Q1, Is there a wiring diagram for the loom or a link to wiring up the ECU or a comparison between the two.

Q2 What sort of throttle body is used to best achieve this, or do I need to replace the throttle cable.

Q3, Ideally I would like to use a 6 speed box, maybe from a 1.2 16v or something??

The only thing that puts me off, from achieving this is below:

SO THEN, after having read this amazing thread :- https://www.fiatforum.com/members-motors/255251-shoebox-1-2-16v-seicento.html

its giving me the urge to attempt this myself!

after xmas and commencing the turn of the new year, the shell is getting a close inspection as the rear right corner of the boot has a small rust patch, so hopefully get that welded up and replaced. Then I am looking at stripping the whole interior and giving it a new lick of paint and seem sealer!

I will then put this in place as im very safety conscious after reading about PRIUS accident!

ive already purchased a sparco seat and subrfame along with an OMP style steering wheel.

So the new shopping list after XMAS is as follows:
1.2 16v stilo engine (Did they do a non air-con model)
Lightened and balanced flywheel
4-2-1 Manifold
Can I use the seicento MPI 5 speed gearbox?
16v loom and ECU (although I've read in pirus thread he ran with the the MPI LOOM and ECU)
My MPI model doesn't have a REV Taco so looking at installing one too
Already got suspension lowering springs -30mm and new shocks
lower and upper strut braces
some sort of custom exhaust
new brakes all rounde inside of the car
going to try and run all the fuel lines and brake lines through the inside of the car!
and bring the gear shifter inside the car rather than underneath the car.

Finally Perspex windows and sliders along with Graphics.

In the meantime still looking and reading as many threads as POSSIBLE!!

Re: 1.2 16V Upgrade

Just been doing a bit of research and thinking what's the best way of achieving the 1.2 16v Stilo engine upgrade.

Ive heard that a seicento 1.1 MPI ECU will run this although its recommended to get the ECU Remapped if possible.

Ive also noticed on the 1.1 MPI Sei there a pipe that goes from the brake servor to the inlet manifold how does this affect the stilo engine in anyway?

Ive read a few threads to be fair and what info is in there is top notch fair play! Think im best off just jumping into it and seeing what happens and what problems occur later!!

Roll on the NEW YEAR

So then after reading many different threads, I would like an opinion on what's the best option for my 1.2 16v conversion.

is it
A) the fiat stilo 1242 16v engine or
B) the fiat punto 1.2 16v engine mk1 or mk2?

I'll be running it off the standard MPI ECU before looking at an alternative.

Cheers
