I want to replace the ignition switch on my Cinq, but I don't want to pay the £70 that Fiat have quoted me for transferring the barrel over. Please could someone tell me how to remove the barrel from the broken switch/put it in the new one. Or is it a job I'll have to get a mechanic to do?!

(Very close to getting the hacksaw out!)

remove covers on steering colum, put key in and turn it, then a press the button that you should see about an inch up the switch holder plastic bit

Cheers, I hadn't thought of trying it with the keys. Been playing with the mashed up switch for days!
