Having seen several eBay listings for 4 branch stainless steel manifold one by direnza or something was wondering if anyone has experience of them.

They are around the £150 mark, which seems reasonable to me.

I think Woj posted something about making a Polo manifold fit. Can't remember the details, but may be worth a looksee at your local scrappy.

Yes I've often wondered about a four into one from a motorcycle to fit. But these are listed as actually for the punto 1.2 engine.

For £150 I wouldn't imagine a lot of research has gone into gas flow and port equalisation.

Does look like a Supersprint one (although the welding doesn't look as good and I see no end section).

John Ashley (somewhere in the underbelly of the W.Midlands) does them too (in house) IIRC.

that one to me looks like it doesn't have tight enough bends coming from the head and would not fit a cento, can't say for sure obviously..

John Ashley ones were the same but i do believe someone on here got them to make one that would fit a cento and they stuck with the new design.. Either way, as fingers says, they make them in house and i would guess to order as well so if you bell them and ask and say for a cento they will be able to sort it out for you and it will be cheaper than a supersprint. The supersprint still seems to be the best quality one you can get though.

worth noting that a 1242 manifold will fit a 1108 but will hang low - not too much of an issue if not lowered though

I would put money on it being an 8v one from the stud pattern

The position of the Oxygen sensor will make clearance a problem.

I'm thinking of getting one also even if it's to hack about/use as a pattern to make one from this seller does them a bit cheaper

It will press against the radiator and hang too low - see photos.

**No comments on the engine - all previous owner and the car has been scrapped!!

Remember, though, that Huw has the 1.2 8v. So hanging low shouldn't be an issue (although the rad might be).

even if it was an 1108 it would be ok if you are careful - frazer has a 1242 supersprint mani on his 1108, it is driveable - even with the car really low but you have to be really careful with speedbumps and back lanes with holes etc! It just isn't ideal really

I agree it's for a 1.2 - and may work if it is for a 1.2 8v engine in there. For memory comes with gasket and fits perfectly to head.

Fingers is right, I shouldn't have a problem with hanging low, just ask the missus.

I think a definate improvement over standard, but probably not as good on the gas flow compared to a super sprint.

But for £150, it's not worth making your own.

Damn, and I went and bought a tig welder. Another job I can't do with it.

I don't like leaving the 16v patrol out of the party so.
