I bought it, and it was a bargain. Seriously under valued by the last few owners.
It is very tired and a little sorry for itself, but the engine still pulls better than my tuned 1.1 after 85,000 of neglect and poor servicing. Someone clearly knew what they were doing when they built this one.
The engine is now in the process of an extensive rebuild and a new lease of life..

Should really get round to making a thread on it..

(Tucked away in my garage :) )

Did you buy the high boost then pal?

I'm pretty sure one of the previous keepers is still floating around on here. I can't remember his user name though

Yep! I've spoken with the guy who originally built it.

Just sorting out all the small things wrong with it, nothing major so far.

The 'misfire' the previous owner said it had was wrong. It's got a boost leak which I haven't had time to track down yet.

Getting off topic here though!

I've been intrigued by the 500m cars! I do love N/A :)

I'm gutted, a friend of mine bid 1200 on it as he wanted it for a track car. good buy, seems like its gone to a good home.

Now, toddle off and start a build thread lol

Well, work begins.

The engine has proved to be a gem, 500m full UAD spec, although the cam was a standard one, a bit strange! Big thanks to Dragon Man for sorting me out with a proper 866. All is now as it should be.
The moving bits have gone off to be balanced as a whole, lightened a little more and the crank knife edged.
Block to be honed and the throttle body to be matched to the inlet manifold, which in turn could with a little more porting/polishing.
