Lee you donut, it's me :p

Shame about the connector, I spent quite a few hours making that loom. Surely you can re-use the wire at least? There's some decent money in that I reckon.

Doesn't it connect to the ECU properly? Can the damaged pin not be removed & replaced?

To answer the map sensor question, the DET3 has the option of a map sensor for a bit more money, but I bought this with the intention of fitting it to an NA engine, so didn't need it.

Anyway, all the best with your project mate, looking good so far, keep it up!

Insert massive facepalm meme here :bang::bang:

To be fair the loom bits wasn't that bad.. 2 or 3 wires had snapped from the connectors... there was 1 or 2 pin retainers snapped but it's no biggie... Ryan was a true gent about it when I told hime and i would recommend him as a seller to anyone.. as said the wiring was a godsend and saved me alot of time and a few quid too.. I've now recieved the new connector and pins and will get to work on it in the next few days :)

Also I've ordered some awesome paint (i hope) for the engine and everything else :)

Engine has been dropped at the machine shop for the cr to be calulated and matched across all cylinders, it's all being cleaned and refurbed in his care along with 3 angle seats and possibly new valve guides, I've gotta drop him the spark plugs tomorrow though as I didn't have the correct plugs today :bang::bang:

Still tonnes to get ordered and lots of cleaning to do but it's definately moving along now :)

what pistons are you going to use mate?

1.2 16v pistons in a mk2 8v block with the compression raised by skimming the head and block

16 ohm is roughly the same range as standard ones, but I'd say these are high impedance actually. But wait to confirm.

However, the size is just too small. I run 250ccm and this is barely enough for my power at 0.8bar boost and 11.5 AFR fuel requirements on full boost (some people will say this is too much, but hey, I keep my engine safe for more than 60kkm ;)).

ive done quick google and for the power im looking at it says i need to find 277cc/min so ill look into the iw031's
also woj and Honeymonster does it matter if i run either high or low impedance with the det3 or do i need to go for a certain one ??

cheers

edit also does it matter in i use bosch injectors or am i best to stick with the weber parts??

cheers again

You would really need to check with DET docs and Honeymonster, I have only seen DET3 on pictures ;)

well lol ive just popped to the scrappy and stolen a set of coupe 20vt injectors.. i just picked them up and left as i didnt have enough signal to check them out whilst i was there, however it turns out theyre bosch 0-280-150-450
flow rate is 335.3cc/min @3bar
15.9ohm

which fuel rail that takes the bosch injectors and works with a mpi head?

Else it will be hard to make them work!

so the injectors fit in the rail... however much they look wrong they do fit in the rail and seal in the inlet side, as said earlier theyre 335.5cc/min from a fiat coupe 20vt for the basic online calculator found here>>>http://fuelinjectorclinic.com/flow-calculator
says they should run 150bhp easily and still below 80% duty cycle which has gotta be good right??

pics of said inlet with injectors fitted (excuse the paint on the flange... i got lazy and didnt mask it up, itll be removed before fitting :p )

this was also treated to some awesome paint, made by vht, called wrinkle plus paint... plans are to do the head and block in this paint, as well as pretty much everything in the engine bay with the exception of a few odds and ends that may well be polished and lacquered depending on how they come out

whilst i was at it these got the treatment too...

i went kinda mad and also painted the coil pack holder aswell as pretty much everything else above the head, the sensors still need painting and i need to get some shiny stainless bolts ordered or maybe have a go at heat anodizing to a bronze/brown color

the pics really dont do the parts any justice at all, they really do look superb in the flesh

also i need to.....

order a set of exhaust studs and get a set of bolts for the inlet as i believe its an arse of a job to remove the p75 inlet in the cento bay with studs instead of bolts

get the brake servo adapter cut down and a new 90deg take-off welded (i know i should have done it before i painted it, but i couldnt resist)

order a set of crimping tools to crimp the det3 connector to the pins (unless someone has a set theyd be willing to lend me?? )

get a flange made up for the turbo mani

order/ pay the an for the dairy bends and straight pipe for the mani

order the t2 flange

order the td04hl 15t turbo from a saab 93/95 (either new or buy second hand and have refurbed )

and that should just about finish off the inlet and turbo side of things

stay tuned there should be more to come soon enough

cheers
