Hi i have a sei sporting 99 and the other day i went to pull off in 1st and the clutch pedal hit the floor (pretty sure the cable snapped)
but the strange part is it cut the engine out and now it wont start (starter motor turns over but wont fire).

I sprayed easy start into the air intake and it fired up but as soon as i stopped spraying it it cuts out again

Any ideas??

Ecu problem? Break in the wiring? Crank sensor?

I'd think it's plain old out of gas (and that the clutch is fubar).

Won't be the crank sensor if easy start works (duff crank sensor = no fuel and no spark).

Unlikely -- in the extreme -- to be ECU (SPI car).

Is there a fuel cut off device on these in the event of a collision?
Just wondered if it did a lurch when the cable went and shut off the fuel..

Indeed there is. Sort of bottom middle of dash. Well worth a look.

hi cheers for the advice guys really helped.. it was the fuel cut off switch under the dash. she fired up straight away after the battery was jumped and as for the clutch was a linkage on the pedal end not the cable
