People i have a dilemma I've got my rocker cover off soon to change the gasket now shall i paint the rocker cover, with the Italian flag on it or just black or red.

I painted mine matt black. The previous owner painted it red with glossy caliper paint and looked really tacky imo.

agreed, satin black rockers are the future.. (y)

No, the past! (n)

To my mind, the issues are --

The casting is generally fairly rough, oily, corroded. With all that, it won't take paint very well.

For paint to have a real chance of lasting on aluminium it needs an etch primer.

Paint is fairly fragile

Nasty, unpleasant, time consuming job. Best bet, pop out the steel baffle plate, dunk the damn thing in degreaser, rinse and drop it off at the powder coaters (who will blast it first).

One colour makes most sense to me.
