i have a 53 plate sei active which i recently fitted a sporting lowering kit too which lowered my overall ride by 50mm was thinking about changing to 14" rims
im currently running 155/65/13. was thinking maybe 185/45/14 or 195/45/14 has anyone been running this or something similar on a lowered car, does it look/handle alright?
any help would be much appriciated

what size depends on what wheels you get...
if you get 14x5.5j go for 185/50r14 or 175/50r14
if you get 14x6j you could also get 195/45 which will open up a fair few more tyre options over the other sizes, but 195 is a bit wide for 5.5j wheels.

Here's mine lowered 50mm all round on 14x6J wheels with 195/45/14 Yoko's

the 175 sonars are Good for there money and i have not tyre to body contact problmes , , the tyres are good in rain and sun so im happy with them

Only a little rubbing at the last 3 mm of the turn to full lock. Need to install 3mm spacers in front to be perfect.
